Because it's not easy to find one that is rated for 50 pound e-bikes and towed vehicles. And dolly towed is not mentioned in any fine print I have found.
I welcome the results of your searching.

Suggest you ask etrailer to help you put something together. Try this or something similar:

That's where I'm looking too including everything you linked. None of which is appropriate BTW.
ALL the dual hitch extenders at etrailer are either too low in capacity or say for flat towing only.
The rack you linked is explicitly NOT not rated for towed vehicles or trailer.

Well it wouldn’t be on a towed vehicle or trailer. It would be on the RV. But I’m done. Good luck. I hope you find what you’re looking for.

Perhaps they're talking about the larger tire/wheel combination; that are so much heavier.

Traveling for years with bikes on back with Major Brand Name racks is the reason, I designed my own bike rack system. I could never find a rack that would hold the bikes still and secure. Bikes on a bike rack take a beating on the road. I would agree with others for now. Take off front tires and add fork mounts in the bed of your truck and strap rear wheels down. Once again in towns tucked in industrial areas are welding craftsmen that can make you a custom rack. I'm on my third custom and love it. No paint rubbing off, scratches, broken parts etc. No Bouncing period. Good Luck!

Thanks for checking in. Do you have a fork mount you like for a heavy bike? I have not seen weight ratings in them

When you see the racing teams using fork mounts on the roofs of their cars.
I never see anything loose or bouncing around? Hmmmmm maybe they know something. I would bolt 2 on to a board and test out. Many different models type in google images and you will get some ideas.

That is what I did with my old Ranger: a 2x4 with fork mounts on it and it tied down in the front of the bed. The bikes never moved.

Thanks for the suggestion Jamie and Jeff. It looks like our bikes less than 5 feet long with the front tire off so definitely worth investigating. Even if I need a cross bar of some sort to attach to the seat posts.

Pete, you could also mount the fork mounts high up on the bed or tail gate with a fork up at an angle and your back tire pressed against the tail gate closed or cab side of bed. An important part of mine was the cover my daughter sewed from the $8.00 tarp. I have read put a ziplock over the led screen protecting from moisture.

racks
I was very successful with this setup. Buy a sleeve that fits onto you square back bumper, and holds a reciever ball. Buy a rack that fits onto the ball ( Hollywood has one) and gives you a heavy duty rack. Mount the sleeve 6 in from your regular hitch ball. Ypu can carry the heavy bikes easily with this setup and still mount the tow dolly properly. The offset makes it much easier to handle the bikes even when the dolly is hitched up.

Bike Rack Solution
I had a similar situation. Have a Thor Windsport 29M with a Jeep Gladiator Toad. Wanted a solution to haul both our bikes and regular bikes. Bought a Hollywood Rack which was recommended by Rad (electric bike brand). Rack appears to be high quality but had the qualifier that can’t be used with a Toad. I thin
No it is a little CYA but also something to think about. As I watch my Toad through the camera I can see it it sway. Overtime it could cause a weals area to crack.
Ended up spending $40 for materials or build a rack that sits in the truck bed underneath the bed liner. Used 3/8” threaded rod covered by 1/2” pvc pipe to allow tires to slide into the holders. Use ratchet ties to secure in the front and back. I toad from MN to AZ and worked great. I put the rear tires up on the closed bed. Hope these pics come through.

Truck is a 5 foot bed which makes putting the bikes in the bed difficult plus I can't find a bike weight rating on BedHead mounts.
Any body out there have a successful system? I'm probably going to wing it with the Thule EasyFold XT even though it says not for towed vehicles only driven.

Tailgate Extender
Why not just get a tailgate extender for your Pickup? They make all different types you can choose from.

We use a two-bike rack that I had to extend further back because of the spare tire on the old GMC Vandura. I could tell that the rack was going to sway a lot, so I use a ratchet strap from the top of the rack to the receiver and cinched it down tightly. Very little sway.

I have a dirt bike rack that was modified just a bit (upright in the middle welded on to help stabilize when loading) for my e-bike on the back of my toad (Escape). I towed it from Georgia to New Mexico and up and down the state of Texas without any problems at all. Heavy sucker. But once it’s on, no worries.
