I was considering the Crosstrek. However, it seems that manual transmission Crosstreks are as rare as hens teeth.

There isn't a big selection to be sure (maybe six in my area), but there seems to be some confusion about if they are towable 4 down. Just trying to see if anyone is actually using one and how it's working out.

According to the FMCA towing guide the 2016 Crosstrek with manual transmission is towable 4 down. The automatic transmission version is not towable. The estimated curb weight is approx. 3100 pounds.

Apparently only the 2.0i and the 2.0i Premium come with a manual transmission.

Here's what the owner's manual has to say about flat towing.

The manual doesn't specifically address recreational vehicle towing. However, the manual also doesn't specify any limitations on flat towing the manual transmission Crosstrek.
