Handling on windy days with toad

Just was traveling with steady 15+ mph wind that was perpendicular to my mh most of the way. Have added steering stabilizer and still the drive was difficult and fatiguing. Considering adding a toad, would windy days be any worse under the same conditions? Also curious if Diesel pushers handle better under windy conditions.

Used to have a 41 foot DP and virtually always towed a toad. Bottom line, driving any oversize vehicle in strong winds is not going to be a pleasant experience. I one fought 70+ MPH winds in the desert, with that DP, and it was believe me a very tiring experience. I did get through it upright and ok, but did not want a re-run of that experience.

We didn't have a toad with our first or second coach but have had one for the last three. I don't find having a toad behind us changes how the coach drives in the wind.

Agree, having a toad behind you does not change handling characteristics in heavy winds. Its pretty poor with or without the toad.

Agree that the toad doesn’t change much of anything - most of the time. Once or twice I’ve had my Jeep wag a bit when being passed by a big truck AND there was a lot of side wind. It made for a surprise squirrelly moment. Not really dangerous, just a surprise.
