Hitch falling off

I was over on the IRV2 forum and saw something about hitches falling off of Tiffin Wayfarers and a recall being issued telling owners to not tow anything under any circumstances. The poster didn't post a screen shot of their recall notice or give the number, anyone here know anything about this?

On a related note, the cause of the failures could be something to watch for on other brands, so something to inspect on a regular basis.

Yup! Got the recall notification, and it'll be dealt with; when we take it to the dealership for Winter storage...

We have a Vegas. Since we tow most of time I check bolts/look for cracks every 90 to 120 days. Is easy to slide under on cardboard with flashlight and wrench.

So what's happening? The poster on the other forum didn't state the problem, just the results.

This is a problem limited to Sprinters...

A forum member, Big Ben, posted a thread a few years ago about problems he had with the hitch on his Challenger. I believe in that case the welds on the hitch or frame around the hitch failed.
