How / why is a thread locked?

Not sure why a thread would be locked out.

Do not call anyone a "Snowflake" or mention some political names like the "idiot in the white house". Moderators will lock per user rules.

Keeps everyone behaving in a respectable manner, not an easy job these days.

Even though a thread has been closed it can still be viewed and usually the moderator will post a final message stating why the thread is being closed.

As mentioned, most threads are closed due to repeated rules violations by more than one member posting. Individual violations are normally deleted and discussed with the offender one-on-one through private message.

my recent post here titled "flat tow totally confused". This is the only post I can find that is locked on the forum...??
I dont think anyone was violating rules, but maybe they / we / I were??

I looked at that thread and you are right - it is closed. I'm not sure why unless it was a mistake by another Site Team member. I reopened it for you.
