I've got a headache ...

from looking for the right tow dolly. I want to tow my 2012 Ford Focus behind my 2017 Thor Vegas. I don't want electric brakes (seems like another headache and more expense). I want the kind of dolly that has steerable wheels. Can anyone recommend a model and brand that will make my headache go away?

Thanks,
JB

We have a Master Tow with surge brakes that we tow our FWD Cherokee with. It has the steerable pan and fits (mostly) under the rear of our Hurricane at camp sites. I recommend it.

Since mid July we have logged almost 2000 miles using a Demco Kar Kaddy SS to pull our 2012 Volkswagen Beetle. It has the hydraulic surge brakes and steerable wheels you are looking for. It also folds up to half it's length and stores under our Axis 25.2's back bumper and rear slide out when not in use. We are very happy with Kar Kaddy and can recommend it to anyone thinking of a car dolly.

How do you get the tail lights, brake lights and turn signals on the towed vehicle to work?

The dolly has those lights. It has a 4 pin connector for brake and turn signals. We use a 4 pin to 7 pin adapter to connect to the motorhome.

I have a Master Tow 80THDSB with surge brakes. The dolly has lights but I use a set of magnetic lights as well to get the lights at the rear of the car.

I lied, we have the 80THDSB, same as dstankov.... I knew I should have looked before responding. For some reason, I thought we got the smaller version.

How do you hook the magnetic lights up? Right to the RV?
