hitch weight rating?

hey all, got my new 2017 thor hurricane 34j...looking for our toad and cant find our hitch rating anywhere?

Thor's hitch ratings are usually 8k lbs but that may not be how much you can tow. You'll need to get the coach weighed and subtract that from the GCWR to get how much you can tow.

Yeah the 2021 34j has an 8000 lb hitch (https://www.thormotorcoach.com/hurricane/specs/) and a 26,000 lb GCWR. You can get your coach weighed at a Cat Scale.

(Just about all of Thor's hitches have been 8000 lbs since about 2015 or so.)

That's what my Sprinter's is...
But the maximum weight I can tow is actually about 4,200 pounds.
So I want with a "Tadpole on a tiny trailer", and we're good to go!

You have an 8000 lb hitch.
Your GCWR is 26,000 lb.
Your GVWR is 22,000 lb.

Weigh your coach ready to camp and subtract the actual weight from the GCWR to determine how much toad you can tow; minimum of 4000 lbs.
