No wonder you like electric vehicles so much! Tthose old 6-volt systems would force anyone who wanted to use them: become an expert!

my family won't fit in them as they are, and my MH has a 5,000# limit... so the 4-door versions won't work.... and I have no interest in the more refined SUV's like the wranglers.

I do think a small Jeep could be fun though, and I think that I'd really love to have a stock CJ, or nearly stock anyway... Maybe in a few years when the kids are out of the picture

one of these days I need to weigh DW's Enclave...my bet is that it would squeak under if empty, but with the usual stock of "stuff" in there it would be over...
My 4 door wrangler weight 4200 give or take a few pounds. So your 5000 hitch coukd wirk

My unmodified 2dr Sahara was just under 4200lbs on the scales (rear seat removed) ... very surprised at that unlimited 4dr weight?

Mine was just above 4200 at the scales.

I'd rather have a and FJ than a CJ

Big fan of the Toyota Land Cruiser. They are pricey.
The old ones could out pull most anything.
We had a trade in at the dealership in the 70's basic truck no frills cracked block. Had a truck driver come in his dump tuck and broken down in the intersection, asked if we had a tow truck..no but we do have the FJ. He laughed, I said hey if it works great if not no loss for you. I hooked up 4 tires slipped a little then we started rolling , got him off the road. What a surprise for him when the little truck pulled his 50K truck

We had a 1965 FJ, and It was pretty darn tough!

But it rusted so badly, that we had to get rid of it in about five years.

A ford festa is a very good toad new it sales for last than 14,000, and makes a good car to use around town it gets better than 30 miles to the gallon and takes about 2 minutes to get it ready to go

Yup! There's a fair amount of them around, and they are CHEEP!
But I always liked the original ones better...

If I even get around to finishing the restoration of my 1972 VW dune buggy I might use it as a tow'd.
For someone wanting a cheap tow'd a Suzuki Grand Vitar or Chevy Tracker are good choices.

My Dad put over 75,000 miles on a Suzuki Samurai by towing it.

It was probably the best Samurai in the Country, that had over 110,000 miles on it.
