Need recommendation on toad

Hi...have a 2018 thor axis 25.2
We just got it. Never towed a car but want a recommendation of car I can tow that is automatic all 4 down. I read MH magazine list and wondered if anyone has towed a chevy spark?
Or any suggestions? Read the list but would like to hear people's experiences.
Thank you

My DIL has a Spark. 3.5 years ago when I needed a new daily drive I looked at them but found the next size up, the Sonic, fit my needs better so I got a Sedan LT. A year later we got the MH and found out the Sonic was flat-towable, so I bought a baseplate and towbar and have been towing it ever since. Works great as a daily drive as well as a site-seeing toad.

FYI every current and lots of past GM product owners manual has a section on recreational vehicle towing that talks about flat and dolly towing.

How much of a car do you need?
Any Smart Fourtwo 2016 or later can be towed four-down,

Besides: they're cute!

Yes, automatic. Cruzes and Malibus can also be flat towable.

Ford's too: at least every one I've owned has had a "Recreational Towing" section in the owner's manual.

I checked out the Bolt's manual before picking one up just to be sure it could ride on our Dolly.

Hi Jamie

How do you charge the Bolt on the road? I thought it needed 220V AC. I know Volt's had a 110V 12 amp charger.

Most campgrounds have 220 VAC. In the RV world we call it "50 Amp Service".

We just went from a TT to a motorhome and, so, our first toad. We wanted a small suv or a hatchback because we travel with our dogs. We never thought we'd own a Chevy but we ended up with a 2019 Equinox and love it. Really light but plenty of room for the dogs, our chairs, etc. Had zero problems with it and the husband says he loves the way it handles. Since we got it in March we've towed it to Colorado and back and on a three month trip from Florida to Maine and upstate NY and back. Highly recommend.

I thought there was a technical difference between two separate legs of 110 vs typical 220V.

No difference...
Most of our RVs don’t make use of the true 220... and just use them as two 110 legs, but at pedestal it is ‘normal’ 220 wiring - hot - hot - neutral - ground..
Hot to hot reads 220v.. Either hot to neutral reads 110v.

Some 220 devices (welders, table saws) may only use 3 wires - only making use of hot - hot - ground...

Been towing a 2014 Chev Sonic for 5 years. All you have to do is pull one fuse and put it in neutral. Bought new RV this year on Mercedes chassis so wanted to add braking to Sonic. Added a hot lighter socket for braking system. Sonic only weighs about 2700 lbs.

Ford Fiesta Automatic can be towed. It is a dual cloth transmission. It is what I use.

We didn't tow ours but we did own a Spark. Untill I hit a deer and totaled the car. Most of the GM cars are towable with automatic transmissions up to 65mph. The Spark would make a fine little TOAD as long as the 65 mph speed restriction isn't a problem for you.
