So we bought the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain non binding tow bar and it doesn’t live up to the hype. It has been a bear to get the arms released on several occasions. On level grd it is not too bad but still have to wack release with a rubber mallet. the last unhook the MH was above the car slightly on a grassy site and I had to put the Jeep in gear and jockey the car slightly to get it unhooked. Before we leave I am going to spray the bars arms up with WD or silicone. Anyway am I expecting too much from the “ non binding” tow bar? Am I the only one with these issues? Have same towbar. Worked easily sometimes... a pain others... until I figured out....
The release works under ‘compression’... ie the toad pushing into the motor home, as the release lets the arms move IN.
If the toad is ’downhill’ or pulling away from motor home, the release can’t do anything.
In these cases, start the toad, put it in drive, and gently move forward to put pressure against the MH. Set brake and back in park. Release lever should pop now and bar slide in allowing release.
