Prices have really come down, the Master Tow with surge brakes was around $1700 new. The cheaper ones I saw.......unable to trust. I think the limit on mine was 4500 lbs, but not sure.

Yes that's what I'm finding. Not many choices with enough CAPACITY[emoji30]
I would never imagined the Edge weighs 5320 lbs.

You can flat tow an Edge 2018 Edge owner's manual page 237.

(My parents flat towed their Edge all over the place.)

Ours is a 2015 EDGE SEL We checked when we bought it 2 years ago ( salesman called Ford Technical) they say it can't be . I would rather Dolly Tow, but never thought to check weight, against what CAPACITY the Tow Dollies are rated for. We were a couple of years out from getting a Class A at the time.

American Car Dolly has a 6500 pound capacity. We had one for two years (changed cars to one we could tow 4 down). We towed a Mini, so we never came close to its capacity. The ACD is very well made. Has larger wheels than most and electric brakes. I’d recommend getting a set of the deluxe straps.

Gary (the owner) delivers direct to your door and walks you through using the dolly.

Settled on a Acme Ez-Tow Tow Dolly , found a "Pre-owned" Ez-Tow a couple of hours from me in great condition, at a great price.
Not sure if they were getting out of RVing, as he said he and his wife visited their 50th state last January.
Somehow I showed up with the wrong size Ball Hitch , he loaned me his, I sent it back to him, via flat rate box USPS.
Our 2015 Ford Edge is so wide the safety chains are too short, and the lower arm looks so flimsy I'm afraid it won't hold. Going with strap through the wheels, connected to the chains. Click image for larger version
