Rock guard-Miramar Flat tow

I have a 2017 Thor Miramar 37.1. When I flat tow a vehicle, how much distance from the ground to the rock guard flap be?

3- inches, 5-inches. I guess you don’t want it too low to scrape.

Thoughts.

Thank you

While a rock guard will help with the smaller stuff like gravel, it will not prevent some things getting thrown up at your dingy. I once had a chunk of a truck tire blowout take out the left-hand front marker and turn signal light on my Jeep grand Cherokee 4' off the ground. It also left a 1/8" deep dent on the left front fender. If at all possible, you should try to avoid going over stuff laying on the road.

I extended the factory rear dual mud flaps a bit and called it good. Towed a wrangler and later a Spark for about 15,000 miles and never had any issues except tons of dust in the towed cars engine compartment.

There is a net device that you can attach to the tow bar itself. This is something I’ve been considering since the exhaust shield cover flew off of my Miramar and took out my fog light and windshield reservoir on my Mini. The flat exhaust shield was held on by one bolt on the exhaust. I got a replacement from the factory that actually curls around the exhaust to provide more support.

Thank you
I just replaced my mud flaps and ordered a rock guard from Duraflap.

https://duraflap.com

According to the information I received the rock guard should be 4-5" off the ground.

Hope this helps.
