Scooter on hitch

We have a 2016 ACE 30.1 and considering putting a scooter on the rear hitch. Total weight will be under 500 lbs. Will it change the way the MH handles while driving? Can I do anything to counter that if it does?

We have a hitch mount for Rons Dual Sport Suzuki . It works well..we have used it on this and 2 other motorhomes. Regarding handling, etc....we don't even know it is back there !

Ron designed and had this made locally, before they were available commercially.
Instead of pulling the enclosed trailer to Florida, he is using the hitch mount and we are taking the Suzuki. Will post a photo in a week, when he has it all mounted.
(important to remember...use good quality tiedowns and check them often when on the road)

I bought a 600lb carrier for my 280lb bike and was not impressed with the amount of front/back wobble. So I copied vkb and added 2 more hitch receivers to the frame. It is rock solid now. Maybe the more expensive carriers are better.


Here's the carrier I bought:
