Hitch tighteners?

Do you recommend these? A specific brand? Before I moved up to a motor home my truck hitch was showing some wear from carrying around a travel trailer. Do these eliminate that wear?

I can only speak for myself, but yes. I pull our boat on a regular basis and the hitch will rattle like crazy without a tightener. Receivers aren't made to very close tolerances since they have to deal with a lot of dirt and crud. Having a tightener takes the slop out of the hitch and makes for a better towing experience.

I second what SuperD wrote. I have to use a combo 2" drop and bike rack hitch receiver so I use 2 tighteners. Pulling a toad, handling is better with the hitch tighteners.

Looks like a "yes" on the hitch tightners, but with a million choices out there, what have you used that works?

I've used several variations of hitch clamp anti rattle devices and ^^^ that style just posted is my favorite simple and most effective solution.

They should as they minimize movement of the hitch components.
