You can make up the circuit on the bench and just plug it in. You still need to wire from the 6 pin at the front to your new segment.
Gotcha!

If your TOAD is an ‘07-14 Jeep Wrangler, then this is the best way to go.

Mopar 2007-2014 Jeep Wrangler Tow Vehicle Wiring Harness - 82211156AB

Bought mine on Amazon a few years back for about $100. Plug and play harness made by MOPAR for this reason. Bypasses the Jeeps power and uses the RV’s power through the provided umbilical to power the Jeep’s tail and brake lights. No need to disconnect the Jeeps battery. Installs behind the glovebox. Comes with factory connectors to plug inline with the existing factory wiring. No splicing.

Thanks Chateau and 16ACE.
I appreciate the info. As I said, nothing in my 30 years of engineering work led me to believe I needed diodes for what I did, but I'm always open to learning something new.
Yes, I ran a complete new wiring harness and mounted & wired in 2 separate LED lights for the brake & turn signals, along with the power for the brake buddy that connects to the RV 7-pin.

Thanx again for the clarifications.
