What Thor is saying is that your trailer hitch has a weight limit of 8000 pounds, not that you can tow that much. What you can tow is the difference between what your loaded coach actually weighs as determined by a scale - full supplies, gas tank, water tank, propane, etc. - and the coach's Gross Combined Weight Rating as shown on a sticker, usually on the driver's door jamb. Subtract the verified weight of the rig from the GCWR, and that is how many pounds you can safely tow.
You might also want to check the hitch itself for a sticker showing its rating. Some folks have been told they have an 8000 pound hitch, but the sticker says it's a 5000 pound hitch.
