Depends on the TPMS system. My EEZ TPMS batteries last at least 2 years. Maybe you got some old stock?

The original batteries in the TST 507 flow through sensors lasted about 18 months; then began to fail one-by-one. I bought a pack of 10 replacement batteries from Amazon and replaced them all. So far they have lasted for 4 years.

I mistakenly ordered a new system, then realized to check batteries, i replaced them all, i figure the TPMS is constantly transmitting tire pressure and temp to the main console. This system is a life saver while on the road. i still check and refill tires to 82 PSI prior to trips, but frequently monitor tire pressure and temp while driving.

The TST system require movement to have the sensors to make them transmit. That is why you have to shake them to assign a tire location. If you want to check the pressures before you start out, just kick them (gently) during the final walk-around and when you fire up the engine, the dash unit will read the tire pressures before you roll.
