Well, I guess I'll maybe be buying a towed despite not wanting one.

Hard to resist.
Spousal Unit said yes.

I have a spare 100" wheelbase 4x4 frame here....

That critter looks pretty darn neat...
And I'm sure that it appeals to your sense of the "Strange and unusual".
Congratulations!

It's no where near a done deal.
I'm not going to pay something stupid for it on the auction.
Now that I've seen one, I can build one pretty quickly if I really wanted one.

That van has inspired me a bit. It's a signpost I'll carefully read to see if the general path is worth following. Interesting path, this vehicle has allowed me raise a hand over my eyes and stare down that path.
I've seen others similar I've bid on, never so small, never towable.

The vette will be leaving soon. This van caused it.
I'm being selfish keeping the turd as garage art when someone might love it more as a car than a display.

It sold for. $77,000ish.
I really think you could build four of them from scratch for that amount.
I hope that was museum and not a dumbass coffee shop buying it.

I agree on building 4 for that price. Looks like the crazy bidding war took over. Wow!

I'm a big fan of two door s10 blazer frames. 100"wheelbase and a solid Frame. The zr2 models are even boxed at the factory. I have one here begging to be something. Had the 24.1 not shown up here at the house, mostly unexpectedly as a whim purchase, I'd have something on that s10 frame by now.
The rv is just too much fun to modify.
There's only about 59 mods left to do on the 24.1 then it can sit. I haven't really done anything to it since the COVID thing. No Motivation.

A 100" wheelbase is HUGE!
Our Smart only has 78" between the front and rear tires...

If you build, what kind of assurances can you provide that there will be no sawdust behind any of the panels? Or do you propose to hire skilled Engineers & Surgeons to help with the Mfg.? I would hate for someone to buy and start giving Duck Motor Coaches a bad rap.

I thought you went to play baseball in the great Northwest? Maybe not as far West as Buffalo and fairly good drive just the same.

I am afraid of any car that is smaller than my motorcycle, I don't care how Smart it is

What bike are you riding? The Smart is 1" longer, and 3" wider than my Spyders were...

Harley Davidson FLHTK Electra Glide Ultra Limited,

Dimensions Length 2600 mm / 102.4 in.
Wheelbase 1625 mm / 64 in.
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating 616.9 kg / 1360 lbs

So if I lose the argument on size (length), can we talk about the performance of the engines

I’ve seen similar vehicles used by some cities.
They are made in China but I forget the name.
Look on the public surplus websites where local governments sell their no longer used items

There is a reason that an original Shelby Cobra sells for more than seven figures while a Cobra replicar sells in the 5 to low 6 figures.

Of course, I'd rather have a Cobra replicar than a 1934 delivery truck, no matter how authentic.

If you're gonna have to drag along a Toad: it might as well be a spectacular one!
(Get the Cobra replica!)
