Engine powers off
 
I have a 24ft Chateau and while driving the engine just shuts off. Ten minute later I turned the key and we drove off. We traveled over 200 miles to the campsite no problem. When we were about to leave turned the key no power, we waited again nothing. We checked the battery was ok. Then I notice the antenna was up. So I took it down I turn the key it started right up.
Does the rv Antenna have a sensor to the engine?

I can't answer for sure about your particular RV. However, I used to have an old Holiday Rambler motorhome and it would not start with the antenna up. It would also sound an alarm as soon as you turned on the key. In my Miramar you don't raise an antenna so I'm not sure if the alarm is still a feature or not on some RV's.

My suggestion is to just raise your antenna and try to start the engine.

Typically the Winegard Sensor antennas are simply mechanical and have no way of knowing if they are up or down. Others may vary, no experience with the King antennas or others.

Thank you, at this time it's at the Chevy dealer. I will let you know what they find.

no idea about the antenna, except that it would be an excellent idea for them to put an interlock switch like that...at least to an alarm or light.... maybe not a kill switch though....

I'm reminded of the Nissan pickup truck I had way back in college. I think that thing was a 1984 model. I'd be driving down the road, then randomly every now an then....not often...the thing would just die like someone flipped a switch. I got real quick at hitting the clutch and rolling to the shoulder. I found that if I kept trying to restart it NEVER would....but if I'd just let it rest for a couple minutes, it would restart every time, like nothing ever happened. i never could figure it out. ended up taking it to a mechanic, who eventually figured out it was the relay that controlled the electric fuel pump
