Axxera radio

Does the Axxera radio run off the house batteries or the chassis battery? Also the USB and 12 v plug, chassis or house?

Mo_Mike 07-25-2017 05:12 PM

The AXXERA runs on HOUSE BATTERY, however, the memory power "should" be on CHASSIS power

On the USB, are you speaking of the "charging station" in the bedroom?

If so, it is on the HOUSE BATTERY

The 12v outlet on the DASH is on the CHASSIS POWER

I was referring to the 12v on the dash. Is there a way to add a 12 v so that it runs off the house battery?

Normally those 12v are on a 20amp circuit. What are you wanting to run on it?

I haven't looked for a place to tie in a 20amp circuit to house power, but you may not need that much depending on what you are wanting to run.

Depends on what you plan on running but if its not much you can tap off the radio which goes to the house battery.

Forgive me but I know little to nothing about RV electrical systems! I want to be able to run a couple of fans when not on shore power or using the generator! The fans I have plug into 110 outlets! I know they won't work when running off the house batteries, so is there another way?
I have a very small fan that plugs into a USB port but it's too small to do much good!

You will need a power inverter. It is a device that turns your 12v power into a 110v outlet for you to plug into. They sell some that will plug into 12v outlet but the proper way is to have one installed into the coach. Not a cheap thing to have done and you will need lots of battery capacity. On the plus side when rolling down the road you can have 110v power without the generator running.

If you are going to use an inverter to power the fans, you would need to make sure you have 20amps going into your 12v outlet...(if your inverter plugs into a 12v outlet)

The best way may be to run 10-12 gauge wire directly to the batteries and connect an inverter that way. You would just need to make sure that you have a 20 amp "breaker" (you can get them on AMAZON or EBAY) in line to protect the circuit before your inverter

Installing an inverter is not a skill I have. I would need to hire someone to do it for me and I'm running short on time.
Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone!

You could also get a fan that is rechargable ( from 12v or 110 AC) Then run it from internal battery, 12v from existing chassis 12v outlet, or on the AC adapter.

I have used these in my boat and travel trailer.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They also make a 5" version.

That is exactly what I was trying to describe...

Yes s picture is worth at least a dozen words ( and an Amazon link is even better)

We have one for additional air flow in our bedroom...
