Check out the Phaeton 40 AH. We have a 2019 and it is a winner with very little issues. Mid bath 40 foot DP, with all the bells and whistles plus 380HP- 1150 ft#. We love it.

I had a 2016 ACE 29.3 and multiple issues with steps not working. Each time it was with door magnets. Sometimes magnet broken and sometimes just out of adjustment. Use a magnet to check operation.

I would start by asking Thor customer service on their toll free number. See Thor website. They can tell you where to look for parts or send you to their factory repair shop.
