Is that panel below the pantry removable? Perhaps...

Is that panel below the pantry removable? Perhaps the valve you're looking for is in there (from pictures that looks like a cold air return vent..take it off I bet you'll find all kinds of stuff back...

First of all: what model year is your Axis? Does it have the demand water heater (tankless) or the old model with a tank?

With a tank your valves may be setup for winter bypassing the water...
