Just push the awning tube up and down by about 6"...

Just push the awning tube up and down by about 6" or 8"--if you can't reach it use a broom. It should retract if you have the option.

I'd guess: No. A big wind would come along and rip the awning out of the side of the camper and all your tie downs would remain secure! ;)
