I thought the frontal area of the nose would force air outside of the side panels. I can see where the 'swirl' back in would create drag.

I got great mileage in the southern flatlands. I averaged 8.3 from Fanning Springs, FL to Loxly, Al, 8.32 from El Rino, OK to Joplin, MO and 8.73 from Comfort, TX to Sonora, TX.

Flat is my friend...

I'm jealous

after 11.4k miles I only average 7.54. I also ran into some 85 octane gas recently and noticed she downshifted on the smaller grades where that wasn't the case before. I'm not carrying any more...
