Why? The 1.5" valve is inside the box with a heat pad on it with insulation under it. The 3" valve is right outside of the insulated box and the 3" pipe also has a heating pad.

Yes the lines need to be cut to remove the plastic pan. I am happy now as both are easy to access.

Wish I had done this in the first place but you know how that goes!
