yes you need to wipe them down, wait a minute and remove any excess. i usually wipe the seal area to remove any road dirt grit




if we are at the beach area i coat them and then wipe clean...

if you want to wipe the shafts down once extended. apply some of the ATF fluid used in the resivior and wipe down the struts LIGHTLY
