Sure sounds like you got the brushoff. Why not compose a complaint letter, calmly worded, and cite the many instances of others getting replacements?

Sad to hear of the attitude at that time--many stories about Roberts fixing the seals on the rams.
I can only assume that the number of incidents and complaints on the internet...
