while that's true, and some newer models factory installed may be set that way, the OP didn't clarify 'which' type he has - mine uses 120v, but I can see that roof-mounted factory-installed models...

the typical wifiRanger should be plugged into one of your 120v outlets, as they are 120v powered... maybe in a upper cabinet.
