Things I would check,

Gen voltage output. (Turn ac breakers off in case voltage is high)
Transfer switch wiring from gen to switch
Make sure converter is not blown by checking bat voltage...

Are you talking about the converter in the power...

Are you talking about the converter in the power distribution panel (battery charger/maintainer) or the invertor (12 v to 120v)?
