Most "Cable Ready" TVs have the QAM tuner...

Most "Cable Ready" TVs have the QAM tuner built-in. Used to be a big selling point for TVs in the past. Not so much anymore as the cable providers move to encrypted channels.

A "Smart TV" has nothing to do with being able to tune either QAM unencrypted digital cable or the encrypted digital cable that all major cable providers are switching to, which requires all TVs...
