Just put it on... nobody is going to see a few wrinkles @ 70mph except a few thousand bugs.... have a great trip. You are also correct if you forget to take it off for 3 years it could be a bear...

When I had Class C's. I covered the cap and hood with that thin plastic disposable carpet runner. Then just ripped it off like they do on the nascar windshields. Did that 4 years.
