The left hand one in the pic with the large wires is the trombetta which is a solenoid that the BIRD opens and closes. The BIRD is the black box next to the trombetta.

Thatís all good info. The other thing is that you have to be plugged in to shore power or running the generator for this to work. The BIRD will not open the Trombetta until it senses 13.1v or more.

I think you are right on the price. The MSRP on my Travato was almost $130k and I paid 80K. So there is room for an Ekco type RV under $100k, maybe with a generator and AGM batteries.

I agree you need the locking ring. The cord stays in fine until your dumb brother-in-law trips over it, pulls it off the rig and bends all your pins. Itís also not good for your appliances.

Unfortunately, while we loved our Vegas and Axis, Thorís workmanship left a lot to be desired. While most of the components in the RV were pretty good, how the whole package was put together was not....
