I always leave the power connected to my 2006 MH during the winter, however, I turn off the built-in converter and connect a simple charger to the house battery, and another to the engine battery....

I can't think of any reason not to lock the car doors and there are plenty of reasons to lock them. I always lock mine. Just be sure your only key is not locked in the car.
