The mount that I used locks the TV firmly into place and is released by pulling down on a small cable. We put over 13000 miles on our Axis this year and some of it was on some pretty poor roads, the TV has never come unlatched.
I like the mount so much that I am going to remove it at put it in our new Hurricane when it arrives.
