Hi adoyle52,

Congrats on your new Aria!

Like you, we also spent some time on the forums reading through common issues BEFORE we did our inspection and it was big help. After delivery, we camped a few miles away in a site with FULL hook-ups so we could thoroughly check the plumbing system, something dealers probably won’t let you do prior to delivery.

As for us, in addition to obsessively looking over the entire coach, we decided to apply extra attention to inspecting the following items:
  • Checked for problems opening and closing slide due to tilt bed.
  • Checked for loose waterline connections behind the washer and the refrigerator.
  • Checked to make sure the water heater work properly on LP AND electric.
  • Induction stove working properly (you'll need to bring an induction pan/pot)
  • Looked for hydraulic leaks on leveling Jacks – Extended and retracted several times
  • Looked for crimped water lines leading to the refrigerator AND the ice maker.
  • Looked for crimped furnace vent lines. Looked under the cabinets for sharp bends/crimps/crushed furnace vent lines.
  • Visually inspected all tanks (black/gray/white) for cracks/hole.
  • Checked air ducts for excess Styrofoam and/or sawdust leftover from construction.
  • Triple checked each slide. Listened and look for squealing, scraping and tearing sounds. Also looked at the alignment and made sure they opened and close 100%.
  • Checked furnace for clogs (sawdust/other debris).
  • Checked roof for cracks and peeling paint.
  • Checked to make sure A/C units worked
  • Checked GFI for tripping
  • Test drove for squeaks and rattles
We also checked the following items immediately AFTER taking delivery (at the nearby campsite):
  • Shower Drain – Checked to make sure the shower drained into the GRAY tank, NOT the black tank. (required dumping water down the shower drain and opening the gray tank valve to see if it drains out.)
  • Bathroom Plumbing Venting – Checked to make sure both the gray and black tanks were vented through the roof. We ran water down all drains at the same time. If something backed up, that would indicate that we may have a problem.
Overall, most things checked out GOOD!

Here’s a list of repair items that were identified and resolved BEFORE we took delivery:
  • Broken cabinet door
  • Adjust crooked doors/drawers
  • Peeling paint on the edges of roof
  • A few scratches in the exterior paint
  • Broken window
  • Screen door – screen had come loose
  • Firefly system was not communicating with AC unit
  • GFI tripping. Was thought to be repaired, but is still occurring.
  • Eliminate squeaks and rattles (very few)
The beginning of this thread outlines most of the issue we discovered AFTER delivery during our shakedown tour.

Hope this helps.
