I know there are no magic answers with this topic, but I do like the Bauer lock better than the Tri-Mark because there is only one key to open both locks. The Bauer also doesn't have a flip lock inside to lock the main latch which makes locking yourself out easier to do. So far, so good. I totally agree that the Tri-Mark was substandard.
