I think you're probably correct. I saw a video of the Silverado's 3.0 inline-6 diesel engine and transmission and the transmission appeared as long or longer than the engine -- it's very large. I'm not sure how much 10 can do versus 6, but apparently buyers are expecting more gears.

The Ford 3.0 V6 diesel is certainly more powerful than the larger 3.2 inline-5 diesel used in Transit motorhomes (has higher GCWR), so if it finds its way to motorhomes it may be able to power an RV as large as an Axis/Vegas or small Class C; much like Mercedes Sprinter V6 diesel powers Reyo Class A, except with more power and torque than Mercedes.
