They are looking at an Axis or Vegas which it is also a PITA to remove the doghouse. The reason for removing it on these units is not to inspect the engine but to inspect the underside of the doghouse to see if there is enough insulation (or any insulation) for noise abatement. Some Axis/Vegas owners have reported that there was no insulation under the doghouse.
