I want to have the rear camera set as default mode so it goes back to that view after using the turn signals, and I want to continue listening to my music or podcast while changing lanes.
You want to add a dedicated monitor like I did:

Put it at a convenient place on your dash, connect it to a switched 12 VDC power source, connect it to an RCS splitter for the lead to your radio and you're done.

Radio works as normal, rearview always on the dedicated monitor except when turn signals activate a side camera.
