Not too far from the area you are looking is Holiday Cove RV Resort. We love the resort and the area, and are weekenders over the summer coming from the Orlando area.
It's just a short bicycle ride over the Cortez bridge to Anna Maria Island. Beautiful beaches, free trolley, great restaurants and live music on weekends, family atmosphere. If you're a boater, it's heaven.
It's an ownership park but lots can be rented through the Condominium Owners Assoc.
