Mothertype55 - 4.5MPG is WAY low!! We move on down the highway towing a 4500 lb Ford Explorer. When I watching the mileage it was routinely running about 6.7 mpg. I quit paying much attention to the MPG and I look for the DTE number - generally around 490 miles after fill up. Lots of things contribute to your 4.5 mpg number but don't worry much about it until you've gotten a couple of days traveling. At 4.5 mpg your DTE after a fill up is somewhere around 350 miles. I absolutely don't believe that is correct.

If you're not towing 7 - 7.4 should be a good number.
