I sometimes fill my car up at the AAFES gas station at the Air Force Base near my home. Once you swipe your card and get approval, the pump says you can pump up to 30 gallons. I asked the store nanager about why that was and ge said it is a state regulation and is a safety measure to keep people from leaving it unattended and spilling lots of gas if the auto shutoff doesn't work. He told me to just swipe a second time and I can get up to another 30 gallons. I think he gave me bad info, though, because I fill up regularly at stations all over the state and have not seen that limit any place else. In fact, I have put 65 gallons in my motorhome at a station about five miles from him.
