I've been in a few situations where I needed a real long run (daughters house). Is it best to start out with the lowest gauge wire at the oulet, then continue on with a lighter gauge wire or just the opposite? I'm referring to the voltage drop. I've heard it both ways, start with heavier gauge and start with lighter gauge. This question is if you don't have with you a long run of wire of lowest gauge and have to combine extention cords.
