Painted Coleman-Mach AC Rooftop Housing White

It took a day, mostly on account of drying in between sprays, but it looks nice and hopefully will reduce the amount of heat gain on the rooftop AC unit, thereby increasing efficiency and helping to keep the interior cooler.

I ordered the gloss white Rust-Oleum Paint For Plastic ($5.61) because it does polypropylene and the white XIM Plastic & Vinyl NT100 plastics bonding primer ($12.99, also for polypropylene) from Amazon (total with sales tax $19.72). I'm trying the "gloss" in the hopes it is a little more "mirror-like" and bounces more sunlight away.

I made sure they were dry of morning dew and sprayed the primer. Took the entire can. Since it's white, I was hoping that would help the final coat, which it did. I also used a rubber glove and a good spray mask.

I had to wait 1 hour before spraying the top coat. Also used the entire can. I probably should have ordered 2 cans. That then dried for about 6 hours before I reinstalled it.

Easy to do, and beats the cost of a new housing. I've included a couple of before, during and after, pictures
