Converter/Charger and Alternator

Hey fellow campers,

I need some clarification and I'm hoping to get some assistance.

If I shut off the converter while going down the road, will the alternator still charge my house batteries?

I'm thinking about installing a 30 amp receptacle that will get juice from my inverter. It seems like the easiest way to power all the outlets in the coach. However, I do need to shut off the converter breaker.

Thanks fellas.
