I don't feel the need to filter pathogens out of the water system in my house, and don't feel the need in the RV either. I do sanitize the system from time to time.
Mostly, we don't drink water from the RV just because of taste, but we do use it for teeth brushing and I will drink it sometimes...making coffee, or if taking medicine at the bathroom sink.....just like at home.

I suppose that if I frequented a place with really horrible tasting water, or if it stunk for showers, I'd probably look into getting a filter at the inlet to the RV...or maybe one of those under sink filters made for residential use (for just taste)...
