When I was little (1982) I drove my conversion van 1,700 miles and 27 hours straight from Jamestown, ND to Atlanta so I could make my daughter's first birthday (they were visiting family). That gave me brain damage and I still feel it today. I'm with 'captmetal' on driving at night. Much less traffic and most people on the road including truckers on the long haul are courteous and move with an even flow. 300 miles a day with a few rest stops in rest areas, etc. make for a good day. My new rule...if i have to hurry to get somewhere it's somewhere I have time to postpone.
