Nice write-up. The parkway is always pretty and a nice drive. Of course during late Oct, the "leaf peepers" are out and many of the overlooks are full but take your time and the parkway is at it's most beautiful.
Bottom photo is near Grandfather mountain and people park to walk the Linn Cove Viaduct.
