we leave as many windows opened and roof fans opened to keep as much possible air movement, and 'escape' of hot air, as possible. With humidity, you might want to consider placing a simple 'dehumidifier' refillable container at your entrance steps, or in the kitchen sink. These things really work.

If you have any solar to recharge your house batteries, and you a 'temperature' controlled Fantastic fan, you can also set it close to the hottest level, and it will come on if it gets 'really' hot!
