I went the 17" Blackstone route last year and haven't looked back. I use it up on the deck where I have a 30 lb propane bottle left over from my old grill. However, for the road I have a 5 lb tank with a hose that deletes the worry of running the Vegas propane dry. Also gives me the freedom to move over to the picnic table, etc.

Because of it's great heat distribution I use it like I did when I cooked commerically - put a pot in one corner and let it rip. Truth be known about the only thing I cook in the house (real one) any more is my morning egg wrap and a pot of rice every couple days.
